Complimentary Therapies

Why is self care so far down our lists? We are finally exercising and taking care of ourselves for better mental health. But why do most of us only book a physio appointment when we can’t walk or why do we only buy holistic treatments as gifts for loved ones, not treating ourselves.Self care is so important and as I lay down receiving my Indian Head Massage byTracy I made a promise to myself to do this more.

Tracy moved from Merthyr and has a successful 21 years experience in the complementary therapies and massage behind her. She, her partner Steve and many animals moved to Libanus 6 months ago, living just down from the Ti’ar Bull Pub. When meeting Tracy I could instantly see her zest for life. She’s extremely passionate about her work and very willing to help others. If she’s not seeing clients in her treatment room at home, she will be helping out at a local farm or walking anywhere and everywhere with her Collies, Gwen and Rocket.

Tracy is fascinated with the human body and there is no better feeling to her than when she’s able to help a client be pain free. That’s why she decided to specialise in back pain. Not stopping there, Tracy’s studies mean she can give advice on exercises, nutrition and essential oils. Get her talking about the outdoors and she’ll be able to suggest walking routes that she’s tried and tested with her dogs Asher, Marley and Logan.

When I went along I opted for an Indian Head Massage, with it coming up for Christmas - mum, dad, it’s a really nice gift to buy someone! Hint hint. Greeted by Tracy at her cottage in Libanus, I was taken to her cosy treatment room upstairs. Tracy talked me through the treatment and then I was left to remove upper clothing and lay on the bed with a super soft towel over me. First of all I had cleanser applied to my face to remove any makeup. Yummy smelling Lavender and Lemongrass oils were massaged into my neck, shoulders, arms and face. Hot basalt stones were smoothed over these areas, this was the point I questioned why don’t I treat myself more?! For many of us life can be tough at times, we work hard, we have families to help and support ... this massage was beginning to release a lot of built up tensions, both mentally and physically. Next it was time to massage these oils into my scalp. Absolute bliss. To end the treatment, little cold stones were massaged gently into my face, this was to tighten up the skin and give me a slight energy lift.Tracy left the room giving me five or so minutes to relax and then get dressed.

On driving home later, I had been energised byTracy’s love for life, for the outdoors. So I took the dogs on a three mile walk in the beautiful autumn sunshine.

If you’re struggling for Christmas present ideas this December, I would highly recommend a gift voucher with Tracy. Offering deep tissue massage, sports massage, hot stone massage, aromatherapy massage, reflexology and my favourite, the Indian head massage - there is something for everyone in your family or on your friends list. A gift they’ll get to enjoy early 2024.

Last of all, Tracy and Steve also offer a one bedroom holiday cottage next door, sleeping up to two people.
