Hay Festival back in person with 500+ events
Hay Festival has unveiled the full programme for its 35th spring edition in Hay-on-Wye, with more than 500 in- person events over 11 days, 26th May – 5th June 2022.
Taking place in-person at Dairy Meadows for the first time since 2019, the Festival aims to inspire, examine and entertain with a diverse programme of events for everyone.
For book lovers, the 2022 programme launches the best new fiction and non-fiction, offering insights and debate around some of the biggest issues of our times. There will be award- winning writers, policy makers, pioneers and innovators taking part from around the world. Look out for talks from Festival president Stephen Fry, 2021 Booker Prize winner Damon Galgut and 2019 Booker Prize winner Bernardine Evaristo.
For families, there will be HAYDAYS and #HAYYA events, encouraging young readers to get creative throughout the half-term week. Look out for Wales Book of the Year 2021 winner Caryl Lewis, children’s author powerhouse Jacqueline Wilson and Children’s Laureate Cressida Cowell.
Late nights at Hay Festival offer great music, comedy and entertainment from performers such as Kate Rusby, PJ Harvey, Jarvis Cocker, Bryn Terfel, Corinne Bailey Rae, Penguin Café, Bill Bailey, Simon Amstell, Nina Conti, Reginald D Hunter, Jason Byrne, Marcus Brigstocke, Milton Jones and Rachel Parris.Theatre will also be woven throughout the programme in collaborations with Letters Live, Shakespeare’s Globe on Tour at the newly renovated Hay Castle, and The Lord Chamberlain’s Men.
