Hay Therapies

What therapies / treatments do you offer?

A woman having a facing massage

I offer therapies for sports, general wellbeing and relaxation. Acupuncture for pain, injury and specific conditions. Massage for sports and injuries, maintenance and relaxation. Holistic Energy Healing for release and rebalance, using crystals, sound therapy and reiki.

When was the business started?

2013.

What made you set up the business?

I started with Sports Massage in 2012 and found my passion for working with the human body. Finding patterns in muscle actions, memor y and injur y recover y was fascinating, and the more people I helped, the more the demand grew. Having a permanent base locally meant I could treat more people and delve deeper into this field.Ten years in and I instinctively recognise the patterns. There’s seasonal trends to muscle aches and pains, some are affected by weather changes, others by occupation and age factors.

Where are you based?

3 The Pavement, Hay-on-Wye.

Any recent changes to the business?

I’ve been working on blending my knowledge of the physical body with healing arts. I’ve added acupuncture to my treatments and become a practitioner of Holistic Medicine, specialising in a Energy Healing.

How do these new qualifications complement each other?

They can be used separately, or as a blended technique. I could use tuning forks for soft-tissue injuries, or for chakra balancing and aura clearance. One is Sports Injury Management, the other is Energy Medicine, the scientific principles are the same.

What made you want to develop your skills with these qualifications?

I’ve always found that working intuitively brings better results. There is now more demand for mind-body-spirit healing because the physical-body and energy-body connection is more readily accepted. These new therapies bridge both, so I am able to treat physical injury, and energy imbalance using the same tools, it is a much more powerful and effective approach.

What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you whilst doing your job?

Attempting to carry out a calming peaceful therapy session while some random ‘singing’ began on the corner up the street. We were laughing so much we gave up and had our own mini ‘Hay’s Got Talent’.

Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know?

• Some Healing sessions are available on-line from the comfort of your own space, contact me to arrange.

• All the treatments are available by appointment in Hay.

Sum your business up in five words: Body, mind, spirit, healing, therapy.
