Ludlow Hospital League of Friends
The League of Friends of Ludlow Community Hospital is a long established registered charity. Its work is devoted to raising funds for helping the patients and staff of Ludlow Hospital, as well as for other causes that support the wellbeing of the people in its community.
The League’s fundraising provides significant and much-needed equipment for the hospital, which the NHS does not provide. This includes such items as its x-ray unit equipment as well as a full renal kidney dialysis unit – these are only a few of the very many items that benefit Ludlow’s patients and help to avoid their having to seek treatment in the larger hospitals so many miles away.
Other recent major donations have included one to the Ludlow First Responders Service, providing a new rescue vehicle. When the closure of Ludlow Hospital was threatened some years ago, it was the members of the League of Friends who helped lead the community in support of its retention.
As every year goes by it is essential that the League of Friends is always gaining new members. They work to maintain and contribute to our local health services; they also put pressure on its authorities, not only to maintain and preserve the services that we have, but also to reconsider the building of a new and much-needed hospital on the land it already owns, on the edge of Ludlow, and which was originally put by for that purpose.
The League of Friends of Ludlow Community Hospital needs you! Membership is just £10 a year and every pound helps the League of Friends to help the community and continue the campaign to maintain a local hospital for Ludlow and the surrounding area.
