Drew’s Concert & Children’s Book Release

This year, to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, The Drew Barker-Wright Charity will be taking to the stage for Drew’s Concert – A journey of love through music, song, dance and laughter.

Our local area is bursting with talent, so what better way to raise funds for rare childhood cancer research, than bringing everyone together under one roof for a variety performance at Theatr Brycheiniog.

The show will feature special guests West End leading man Matt Rawle (Martin Guere, Evita, Zoro, Cabaret, Aspects of Love) and Natalie Ngyutin (Fame, Smokey Joe’s Café, Inkle and Yarico, Bombay Dreams) and performances from Rachel Noble,The Westenders, Poise Dance, Marc Williams and Helen Jones, Brecon Little Theatre, Mid Wales Dance Academy, Alive & Kickin’ Community Choir, Christ College and Angel School of Dance.

The concert will also mark the UK release of Drew, Moo and Bunny, Too. A beautiful childrens story of a little boy and his two best friends, told in enchanting verse by renowned poet Owen Sheers and magnificently illustrated by award- winning artist Helen Stephens. Developed in collaboration with DBWCharity and published by Walker Books, not only will it be a classic, stand- alone story to share with young children, but also a beautiful way of honouring Drew’s memory.

Alongside both of these events, the charity will be running a raffle for the month of September with tickets available at Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon Chocolates and Ty Cariad. Prizes include tickets for Moulin Rouge (Piccadilly Theatre, London), an original Lizzie Spikes Oil Painting, Samsung HD TV, AfternoonTea at Foyles of Glasbury,Three-Course Supper at the Felin Fach Griffin, and many more.

We hope you will buy a raffle ticket, purchase the book as a gift for a little loved one, or join us on 23rd September for what will be a unique evening of entertainment, suitable for all ages.
