Enrol on College Courses at y Gaer

At Brecon Beacons College, we will soon be reopening our doors to new students! This year, we will be enrolling at our new facilities in y Gaer, Brecon’s state-of-the-art Museum and Library.

We recently began sharing the space in y Gaer for our College library and some of the classes we offer.

Whatever your interests, if you’re looking for a new skill, career change or community class, take the opportunity to enrol with us in y Gaer between Thursday 24th August and Friday 1st September. Our tutors and support staff will be there to help you 9.30am – 4pm on all weekdays in this period (except August Bank Holiday Monday 28th August).

We have something for everyone, whether you’re a school leaver who just finished your GCSEs or a mature learner wanting to learn a new skill or trade. Full-time vocational courses:
We’re mainly known for our practical full-time courses. We’ll be enrolling in y Gaer for all of these courses:
• Access to Higher Education (Health Care) • Automotive Engineering
• Business Studies
• Computing & DigitalTechnology
• Construction & the Built Environment • Foundation Studies
• Hairdressing & Applied Therapies
• Health, Social & Childcare
• Horticulture & Gardening • Sport & Public Services

We also offer degrees:
• Business, Management & IT
• Computing (online learning)
• Construction & the Built Environment • Sport & Exercise Science

Part-time courses:
We have options for adults who might prefer learning part-time.
• Adult Learning Community – English, Maths, Computers Don’t Bite and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses. We also have new online Welsh classes for you to try.
• Counselling and Teaching – You can qualify as a counsellor or as a teaching assistant with online courses in Counselling or Support Teaching.
• English Language and Maths – Ideal if you want to progress your career. English will be on Wednesday evenings, and maths on Thursday evenings for a year.
• Horticulture - studied one day a week for a year, with no experience needed. The day can be Monday or Friday.
• Professional Training - training and short courses are available for businesses and professionals. From Accounting to ElectricVehicle Repair to First Aid, we have something for you.You can find out more by looking at our Business Development Unit at www.business.nptcgroup.ac.uk.
