Mid Wales Dance

Mid Wales Dance Academy is a large, privately run dance school with over 200 pupils from the age of 3 years. We offer a range of classes, including ballet, tap and street dance. We also offer examinations with both the Royal Academy of Dance, and the Association of Russian Ballet and Theatre Arts.

The school is fortunate to have Theatr Brycheiniog in Brecon as its main base, where we have use of a large studio with sprung floor, mirrors and barres. Our annual show takes place at the end of each academic year when students have the chance to perform on stage in the theatre’s auditorium.

The school Principal, Lesley Walker, founded Ribbons Ballet School in 1995, and the school has expanded to become Mid Wales Dance Academy, offering a wide range of classes. All our teachers are fully qualified and DBS checked.

Please visit our website: www.midwalesdanceacademy for further information about the school.

Over the last 15 years, 23 of our students have been accepted into full time training in ballet, contemporary dance and musical theatre, attending some of the most prestigious dance schools in the UK. Many of these now work as professionals in the performing arts industry and MWDA is very proud of their achievements.

We are now accepting pupils from the age of 3 years and above for our new term starting in September and are offering a free trial class as a taster session. If you would like to take advantage of this, or enrol your child please email info@mwda.co.uk for further details.
