New in Town: The Hidden Jem

There’s a new salon open in the Market in Brecon. The team are passionate and eager to take on new clients. We had a chat with Jasmine and Jessica at the Hidden Jem to learn more about their new venture.

What do you do? We are a hair and beauty salon.

Where are you based? The Brecon Market Hall.

What made you start up this business? After managing salons for the last 7 years, we (Jasmine and Jessica) wanted to open up a salon where clients can have both hair and beauty treatments done under one roof.

What is your favourite part of your job? Meeting new clients and helping them to feel and look amazing.

What type of education or experience helped you to open/run/manage this business? Jasmine has over 13 years of beauty background, specialising in facials lashes and brows. Jessica has been trained by a L‘Oreal Training Ambassador and is a hair colour specialist. Jessica is also trained to work with Sen children and any children with special needs. Together we make the perfect pair in offering high quality treatments in a welcoming friendly salon.

Describe a typical day in your business: Completing treatments, meeting and greeting new clients, and becoming part of the Brecon community.

How can people book an appointment with you? Appointments can be made via social media, you can call the salon, or you can make a booking online through our website.

Any advice to new businesses in this area? The most impor tant advice I can give is to become part of the community. We have already had an amazing response to our business and a lot of our clients have become friends. We have an open door policy; we are not just open for treatments but if clients feel they just need someone to talk to, or have a cup of coffee, we are always happy to see new and returning faces here at Hidden Jem.

Anything else you’d like our readers to know? We would like to say a huge thank you for all the clients that have supported us already. We have some exciting new treatments coming including the award winning Skin Base Microdermabrasion facial.
