Local Delivery in Ludlow with Teme Dairy
We asked Joe Loveys,Teme Dairy Sales and Promotions Manager and son of owner David Loveys, a few questions about the business...
Tell us about yourself and how Teme Dairy was established... Teme Dairy has had many iterations throughout the years. In 2016 my father David Loveys, a retail manager for previous owner Cotteswold Dairy, bought the business to preserve local doorstep delivery in the area. Having been in the milk industry for nearly 50 years, Dad took the step into ownership and so Teme Dairy was born. Together with myself, our six milkmen and our office manager Lisa Powis, who has been with the business since 1996 and truly is its beating heart, we pride ourselves on offering quality products and customer service to the local community.
Are all of your products sourced locally? We have strong ties with our main supplier Cotteswold Dairy. Based in Gloucestershire, Cotteswold pride themselves on supporting local farmers and businesses and all of their milk is sourced within 40 miles of their depot. As well as dairy products, we also sell a wide range of quality goods including juices, eggs, yoghurts, bread, biscuits and even compost! We maintain a close relationship with our next-door neighbours the Wyre Pie Company whose goods we sell year-round. At Christmas, we produce our famous Christmas leaflet that features local food producers and offers everything from turkey and cheese to shortbread and lemonade! We are constantly looking to expand our large range of products already on offer not just at Christmas but all year round. If you are a local producer and think your goods would be perfect for doorstep delivery, we’d love to hear from you!
How often do you deliver in Ludlow? We deliver into Ludlow come rain or shine on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, every week of the year including bank holidays (although we do allow ourselves Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day off). We recently took over from Dave Havard at Corve Dairy, who is enjoying a well- earned retirement, and are pleased to have been given the opportunity to preserve and hopefully build up doorstep delivery in what truly is a lovely part of the world.
Anything else you’d like our readers to know? Milk deliver y is not a thing of the past! We deliver quality milk in sustainable and reusable glass bottles (that you leave out for the milkman to collect) as well as plastic cartons, in addition to our wide range of other goods. There is no delivery charge and no contract. We are a local business, providing a service to the community and supporting local farmers and producers.
